Over the last 20 years, Williams has collaborated with community organizations and corporations to develop and implement programs and systems as a powerful and transformative approach to addressing societal challenges. These partnerships harness collective power by leveraging the strengths and resources of both sectors to foster lasting, positive change. Community organizations bring grassroots insights, community trust, and a deep understanding of local needs, and corporations offer complimentary infrastructure and scalable solutions.
When uniting communities and corporations, Williams designs initiatives that bridge gaps in access, representation, and opportunity, working to ensure communities create and lead initiatives. He believes that together we can build a more just society, where everyone has an equal chance to thrive and where the principles of fairness and diversity are at the forefront of our collective consciousness.
Born and based in North Carolina, Michael S. Williams fosters community engagement and organizational change through art and dialogue as both a consultant and founder of Black On Black Project. Williams graduated from North Carolina Central University and spent 16 years in media with roles centered on content creation and community building. He has curated more than 30 art projects and programs across the state in partnership with municipalities, local businesses, and nonprofits and is the executive producer of ten short films. Across projects, settings, and North Carolina, he introduces new ways of thinking and problem solving.
